i live in art

one of my favorite things about photographing people is using the subjects to model the beautiful world we live in. that may seem backwards... but when you think about it, its really awesome! i am constantly looking EVERYWHERE for colorful and unique places to photograph. it is amazing how easily we overlook real art in our everyday lives. anything from a wall to a door to a ceramic tile... these are all pieces of art that are placed there for a reason. they are thought over for months, even years, and we dont even notice them. someone somewhere had the idea to create that door or that wall and their creations are not given nearly enough credit. this is what i think i enjoy most about photography. i like finding these lost creations and putting them in the spotlight. they DESERVE it! we really dont think about what a difference street art makes in our lives. think about it this way... you're walking into a mexican food restaurant... would you rather open a regular old door with dirty glass windows? OR would you rather grab onto a rustic door knob attached to a bright red door with turquoise accents painted on it? it adds so much to the mood and feel of the restaurant! what about the side of a building decked out in grafitti? ok i guess its somewhat illegal... but isnt it so colorful and happy? (if its appropriate haha) what a boring and bland life we would have if we didnt have this kind of stuff in our world! if we didnt have art in our world! i praise God for creating it all! color... light...lines... movement. He really is the true creator !!! i just want to strive to notice the art i live in.

some examples of what im talking about:
this awesome knitting shop with a gorgeous door! this is outside of a grungy auto garage outside furniture! SO over looked! when i grow up and have a house, i want to have a full on living room outside! another red door!
a little tile bench on the side of a building!?!? genius.
an old gas station... painted purple! some rocks... in a cage!
so you see... its everywhere.
