gifting

my friend aleecia tied the knot this past weekend up in flagstaff! i met aleecia in a small group bible study i have been a part of since moving up there and i knew from the start that she was such a wonderful girl with a sweet and easy going spirit. when thinking about a gift i could get her and her new husband jeff, i had the strong urge to make something. i know, craaazzzyyy huh? me, making a gift. who woulda thunk? i wanted something fun and simple that they could each use in their new home. i immediately remembered the clipboard i bought at my thrift store for just 50 cents about a month ago! perfect place to start... empty clipboard. i found out what their colors were going to be for their kitchen in their new home and just went to town on this project. i had the idea to make a little hanging message board for their kitchen. a place to write notes to eachother, lists, things to remember. just something simple and sweet to add to their kitchen. so here is what i came up with. aleecia said she loved it and was going to put a magnet on the back and stick it to the fridge. perfect. congratulations to aleecia and jeff!here it is without the notepad attached. their kitchen is red, black, and white. there is a sweet little pic of the couple down at the bottom.

homemade gifts are just a thousand times better. why dont you make someone something this week?!
