one of my favorite details was the flowers. amy from amys floral design did an amazing job giving mike and jennie unique and memorable floral arrangements. i just loved the wrapping around the stem of this corsage...
the guys boutonnieres were the coolest... i think this is called a... thistle? not sure, but whatever it is, its stinkin creative. i mean you saw the chuck taylors that the guys wore... there's no way they could have worn the typically flower boutonnieres.
here is a little double shout out to the bridal bouquet with wonderful splashes of orange, pink, red, and green as well as the flawless engagement ring... momma like.
and i know i already posted this photo, but im doin it again. wanna know why? because i forgot to mention the fact of how obsessed i am with jennies bridal bouquet that amy created. my favorite feature of ALL the floral work that amy did for the wedding was the wrapping styles she used for the stems. forgive my terrible lack of knowledge of the floral arranging industry, but i just love the way that twig-like stuff is wrapped around the stems. the bridesmaid bouquets had the twig-like stuff all the way around them with no color showing through and i loved it. something i definitely want for my own wedding someday.
the next detail i'd like to highlight is the cake! created by the lovely and talented miss erica of the previously featured engaged couple, jeff & erica. talk about a talented and driven girl doing what she loves. its so fun to hear erica talk about her cakes and the fun and crazy process she goes through to make them. this is just one of many cake masterpieces that i have seen this girl whip up and im so very proud of her. it was completely delicious as well. hopefully i will be working with erica in the near future to develop a blog for her cakes... she's gotta showcase the incredible work that she does!
before this post ends i had to feature the incredibly cool and unique venue that mike and jennie chose to tie the knot at. their guests gathered in the prayer pavilion at phoenix first assembly. this building was so modern and intimate with the awesome blue window paneling on the inside and outside that can be adjusted to the exact shade of blue you prefer. how awesome is that?!
their reception was held in a nearby building with awesome dim lighting (not shown in picture) complimenting the blue japanese lanterns hanging from the ceiling. loved those lanterns. oh, and get this... the reception was an all dessert reception! HA-LER. the tables were full of yummy mouth watering desserts that kept me comin back for seconds, and thirds, and possible fourths. what.a.great.idea.
they say its the little things in life... i dont really know the rest of that expression but its definitely the little things at weddings that bring out the couples personalities and set the overall mood to the event. how fun would it be be a wedding planner? oh SO fun.
