slice of life/true confession

im obsessed with other people's junk.

one of the locations in jerome where we shot at during katie & mike's engagement session was this super old and completely run down convenient store type place. it was one of the first spots we saw on the way into the town and i knew we'd be coming back there to shoot. i looked inside the window and saw the most beautiful sight... junk!

ok seriously there are at least 5 things within this shot that i want. (i'll give you a sweet prize if you can name 3 of them). it just kills me knowing that all of this neat stuff with stories to tell and houses to decorate (like mine) is just sitting in this little shack waiting to get out! one of my favorite things to do is to take the old and make it new, especially when i know that the old has lived a good life with it's previous owner. and something tells me that all this stuff has lived a good life and its sitting in there beckoning for a new home, to be made new.

im going back to jerome soon and i have every intention of knocking on the door of the house next to the shack and asking if i can be let in to take what i want. and if they say no, i see a nice little point of entry in the back there ; )

I'm obsessed with Jerome. Its one of my favorite places on this earth, try haunted hamburger or the asylum next time you're there and I bet you'll love the Jerome Grand.

1. Big white frame.
2. White wood hutch thing next to white frame.
3. Has to be something in the boxes, or the white dish drying thing or the white thing to the right with green cloth ontop.

haha how did I do?? I love your slice of life!

Im with Joel on the big white frame - then I def think the dish drying thing and the chair to the right with the green ruffle (which you will promptly change to another fabric after you have painted the chair). Did I beat Joel??

Steph,
I am NOT anonymous - the last two times I have commented on your blog it hasn't taken my name even though it has in the past - AND I want to win!!!

one more thing - IF I WIN you know I would be adventurous enough to go with you to Jerome in my big SUV to claim these treasures. AND you know I would be adventurous enough, even if the people wouldn't let you in (if you know what i mean - wink wink)!!

dang i thought i was going to be the first one to comment on this but turns out everyone beat me to it! i was going to say the dish rack (OBVI.), the chest to the right that everything is piled on (cant see much of it but i have a feeling it is a true buried treasure) and the frame about an inch (of picture space not actual space) to the left of the dish rack with the sweet shape. at least i THINK its a frame... please take me with you when you go back.
love-em
