mel & kris... contest revisited!

remember the contest i hosted a while back? i wanted to know what inspired you. melissa submitted this beautiful entry about a photo that inspires her and she won! for the free photo session mel decided to recreate the photo with her husband kris. we found a similar setting we could use to create the same environment as the original photo and mel & kris showed up lookin just like the old folks in the picture and i was ready to rock.

my favorite part of the photo mel submitted is that it emanates joy. and my favorite part of this idea mel had to recreate it is that she and kris emanate the same joy with eachother, and i knew it'd be fun to capture.


after the bench scene we headed over to an abandoned train car and track to have some fun with the props they brought along!

they also brought along their instruments to play some music on the train. yes, mel plays the cello and kris plays the dulcimer, but here he is seen rockin the tambourine:


in september mel & kris will be headed to africa to travel around doing various mission work for several months so they decided to take a few pictures that they will use for prayer support cards


all in all it was a super successful photo session, so many different looks were achieved and i know mel & kris will be glad they have these photos some day when they're as old as the people in the original photo. im so glad i can call them such good friends of mine and it was so fun to take these memories for them.
