slice of life... nan lawson.

a little over a month ago i stumbled upon the amazing nan lawson. she's an incredible artist and digital illustrator that creates these wonderful custom portraits. i immediately emailed her and asked for information on getting the process started and was so excited at how completely custom this portrait would be. nan explained that all i needed to do was send over an email attaching a few photos of joel & i and let her know a little bit about our "style" (as if we have one), and then she'd start working on our portrait, and then i'd start FREAKING OUT -----> !! i patiently waited for about a month while i knew nan was hard at work creating a digital "us" and leaped for joy one night when i checked my email and the first draft was waiting in my inbox. after giving her my obvious approval she sent over the digital file and the fine art print, which i now present you with here in a lovely spray painted purple frame courtesy of goodwill. it will sit on my desk and hang on my walls and smile at me forever : )

if it was possible to love the little digital version of joel more than the real deal, i would. of course thats NOT possible but it comes pretty dang close. make sure you visit nan's website as well as her flickr page where you can see more of her custom portraits, including ours! seriously, go look at her stuff, these make great gifts and she's done some ADORABLE work with families and couples. NAN LAWSON, you are the key to success my friend.
